Guides and Instructional ResourcesA number of guides and instructional resources are available as tools and information for carrying out the various tasks. Calculation SetsEngineering calculation sets comprise the original work sheets produced in the course of a project. The calculations must be well organized in order for someone else (and even the originator) to follow and understand them. Each calculation set should be self-explanatory, able to stand alone, and meet the criteria given in these guides. Mass and Energy BalancesA guide to the preparation of material and energy balances including calculations and supporting documentation. Energy AnalysisThis guide focuses on an energy analysis of operations. The emphasis is on revealing ways to reduce energy consumption. Operating Policies and ProceduresGuide and worksheets for documenting process operation policies and procedures is the identification of the individual steps taken in a process. Capability and Performance MeasuresDefinitions and methods for measuring productivity are given. Project DocumentationThere is no single correct manner in which a technical report should be organized and written. Most major companies have their own particular ideas of format and style. We will use a somewhat standardized report format which is representative of the action-oriented style you can expect to encounter in industry.
